FSA Recovery Affirmation: Breaking Scapegoating Patterns
Becoming mindful of how we may project our wounds onto others
Surviving Family Scapegoating Abuse (FSA) often leaves deep emotional scars, shaping how we perceive ourselves and navigate the world around us. The rejection sensitivity that arises from being repeatedly blamed or marginalized by one’s family can create intense emotional responses, leading to feelings of being unworthy, misunderstood, or unseen.
As a result, FSA adult survivors may find themselves becoming reactive, judgmental, or slipping into roles of victim-hood or martyrdom as they try to protect themselves from further harm. These responses, though understandable, can create patterns that perpetuate pain and block healing.
It's crucial to recognize that these reactions are not a reflection of who you truly are, but rather the remnants of past trauma that need to be released in order to create space for self-compassion and growth.
