New Paid Subscriber Groups Coming - and Dream Sharing Group Has MOVED (Learn How to Join)
Paid subscribers of FSA Education will be able to start their own Chat Threads in the new 'hidden' publication groups I'll be creating - Read this post to learn how to join.
Initiating Your Own Chat Threads in Private Groups
I’ve been searching for ways to be able to offer paid subscribers of FSA Education the ability to start their own Chat threads in private, paywall-protected groups without overwhelming everyone’s push notifications on the Substack mobile app or your email inbox.
After exploring a couple of options available to me on Substack, I’ve discovered that I can create multiple private (‘hidden’) Substack publications focusing on a given topic or theme under my main author account here.
As these are stand-alone publications, I am able to offer paid subscribers the ability to initiate their own chat threads, similar to an online forum environment. You’ll be able to find these new groups as I add them (and request to subscribe to them) via the main Family Scapegoating Abuse (FSA) Education Site Directory (open this link in a browser if you can’t access it yet from the mobile app - Substack is working on this, by the way).
Substack does NOT allow me to import paid subscribers to these new private publications I’m creating, however. You will therefore need to ‘Subscribe’ to these publications as I announce them. Once I approve the request to subscribe, you’ll be able to participate in private chats and create your own chat threads focused on the publication’s topic.
You’ll also want to check your Promotions or Spam folders as sometimes Substack Chat thread email notifications go there. Move these emails over to your Inbox folder so your email servicer knows these emails should go there.
The first private publication I am offering paid subscribers is the FSA Dream Sharing group. We already have about 12 members and a dream has been posted by a subscriber that we are giving feedback on (continue reading to learn how to join).
Did you already join our new Dream Sharing Group publication this week? Please visit the account settings for this new group and toggle ‘on’ receiving posts and receiving new chats so you don’t miss new threads notifications.
Upcoming Groups for Paid Subscribers
I’ll be announcing a new Writer’s Group private publication soon for paid subscribers working on their memoirs or similar autobiographical material, as well as a Small Gains private publication where FSA adult survivors can share - and support each other in - their recovery progress.)
How to Subscribe to the Dream Sharing Group
You’ll first want to read about our Dream Sharing Group Guidelines post before requesting to join our private Chat group. Read my instructions on how to subscribe, below:
SUBSCRIPTION INSTRUCTIONS: Click ‘Read full story’, above, to access our group guidelines post. At the bottom of this guidelines post, you will see a button saying ‘Request to Join Group’, which only paid subscribers of my main FSA Education Substack can see. Enter the SAME EMAIL ADDRESS you used to sign up to FSA Education as a paid subscriber. Once I approve your subscription request, you’ll be able to access the private Chat group from the main navigation menu on your browser, or via the Substack mobile app. Direct Message me here by clicking on my profile avatar if you have any issues subscribing.
Hope to see you there!
PAID SUBSCRIBERS: You can manage / cancel your paid subscription via your Substack Account Settings. Or, if you prefer, you can manage / cancel your paid subscription directly on Stripe (Substack’s credit card processor) via your Stripe Customer Portal (be sure to log in with the email address used to secure your subscription).
